TIPS
Please call your health insurance company and ask if you have met your deductable for the year if applied, ask if you have a co-pay usually 20% (some don't) and how much you are allowed for cranial prosthesis (wig) due to chemotherapy. Usually for a calendar year.
You will need a prescription from your doctor and a diagnosis code (if submitting claim yourself). A diagnosis code is used for all insurance companies for the type of cancer you have.
Make sure you get a receipt (have it copied because they can be lost) and if the store/salon is not a provider for your insurance company, you CAN purchase the wig and submit it to your insurance company for reimbursement. Not all wig stores take insurance so insurance companies will reimbuse you.
